This decorative, stoneware bowl was hand built using a combination of stoneware clay and paperclay for the texture. The cracked surface underneath is the result of stretching the clay as the piece was being formed. Inside the bowl the surface has been carved using a custom-made tool
It was fired to around 1270 degrees C in an oxidising atmosphere, supported by clam shells which have left their marks on the underside.
Width is approx. 7 inches. This piece has been left unsigned, so a certificate of authenticity with images can be supplied on request.
