A beautiful little vase with a smooth and shiny, pinholed glaze containing dolomite and raw wood ash. The piece was part thrown, altered and then coiled to achieve the oval form. It was experimental in as far as two layers of slip and two of glaze were applied and it's the combination of uneven surface texture and metal oxides in the first layer of glaze which have generated the huge number of pinholes. The colour is also quite unusual, being a light bluey grey with hints of light yellow and brown. The interior has been glazed with a dark, copper-dolomite recipe which renders the vase completely waterproof.

Height is approx. 4 inches and diameter approx. 4.75 inches. Quite heavy for its size due to the multiple layers of slip and glaze.
