This beautiful little bowl was thrown "off the hump" and the footring hand carved at the leather hard stage. The dark background slip was brushed on and serves nicely to highlight the texture of the clay body. The blue dots are made with a dolomite glaze and were applied after the bisque firing. The piece was fired to around 1260 degrees centigrade. A food-safe, transparent glaze containing wood ash has been applied to the interior.
